AI Policy Charters

GMAI plans to upstart clubs or 'charters' in schools worldwide by providing resources for students to connect with Artificial Intelligence experts and teach students leadership and innovation. Students in charters explore and debate on AI policy, research about new policies, and learn about emerging AI technologies and their implications. These charters give students a seat at the global table to advocate and represent youth voices in artificial intelligence.

02

Global AI Advocacy & Conferences

Global Minds for AI plans to send youth delegates to international AI policy conferences, including those hosted by the UN, OECD, and regional government summits. Through partnerships with global NGOs, academic networks, and advisory boards, we aim to ensure youth voices are included in decision-making spaces. These experiences will train students in diplomacy, policy advocacy, and ethical leadership, skills critical for shaping the future of AI governance.

Youth-Led AI Policy Papers & Consultations

We are launching an initiative to support student-authored AI policy papers in collaboration with think tanks, legal scholars, and international organizations. GMAI charters will co-write proposals that address regional and global AI challenges, such as algorithmic transparency, AI in education, or surveillance ethics. These policy memos will be submitted to relevant stakeholders and featured in consultations with policymakers, making youth a visible force in shaping AI regulation.

04

International AI Charter Roundtable

GMAI is preparing to host a virtual and in-person annual roundtable bringing together all of our school-based charters across continents. The roundtable will be co-sponsored by institutional partners and focus on youth-developed policy recommendations, cross-cultural innovation challenges, and discussions with AI governance experts. This global convening will foster collaboration between charters and give students the chance to present their initiatives on an international stage.
